Thanks to my new twitter account I caught sight of this auto-interview conducted by/with Jonah Peretti, the CEO of BuzzFeed. The name notwithstanding, I found the material to be less filled with buzzwords and catchphrases than most articles on social media are. That and the writing is engaging enough to offset the inherently self serving nature of the article (just how are we supposed to think that the CEO of a company that lives and dies off of social media connections is supposed to give an unbiased assessment of facebook’s value vs., say, google. If nothing else, he fails to mention that google’s ads tend to be worth more because internet searches tend to correspond with searches for products and services, while ads on facebook are mostly distracting you from pictures of your friends.
Thanks to Rubina for passing this along!
